On March 10th, Tan Huajian, a senior media person of Zhongshan Daily, released the new book "A Brief History of Zhongshan Industry" and held a theme sharing meeting on "Chasing Light for a Hundred Years' Industry and Drawing Forward Strength" in the lecture hall on the 7th floor of the library of Sun Yat-sen Huoheng Vocational and Technical College. Paul Hu, a doctor and professor of history, Ge Zhibin, former deputy secretary of the Party Committee of Sun Yat-sen Torch Development Zone, and Tan Huajian, the author, reviewed the development process of Zhongshan's industry for a hundred years and summarized the value and significance of this book.

Write history with problem consciousness

Yuan Weishe, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of zhongshan torch polytechnic, said that A Brief History of Zhongshan Industry meets the requirements of the era of two-way empowerment of industry and education, and provides rich historical materials and realistic cases for teachers to study Zhongshan's economic development and theoretical research.

Paul Hu shared his experience in writing A Brief History of Sun Yat-sen. We should have problem awareness when writing articles, doing research and writing books. This is true whether he wrote A Brief History of Zhongshan or Tan Huajian wrote A Brief History of Zhongshan Industry.

Paul Hu thinks that it is very difficult to write a brief history. Where are the difficulties? He took "A Brief History of Zhongshan" as an example. First, there were relatively few historical materials in Zhongshan. Second, modern history is difficult to write, why is ancient history difficult to write? There were few materials in ancient times. There is nothing to refer to, so it is not easy to write. And modern history, too much information, difficult to choose. Third, it is difficult to write colorful things that too many people know and are familiar with.

Fill the blank of Zhongshan industrial history research

Talking about Tan Huajian's A Brief History of Zhongshan Industry, Paul Hu said that this book filled the blank in the study of Zhongshan industrial history.

First, he combed the context of industry for a hundred years. This paper combs the course of Zhongshan's industrial development in the past 100 years, from modern times to the present, which laid the foundation for later researchers.

Second, many of the materials he handled were interview materials. He personally experienced the transformation process of some enterprises, especially the development of industry, including industrial policies, industrial adjustment, industrial transformation, industrial upgrading and so on. As a front-line reporter, he left us a lot of materials and also provided some clues. The most important thing to do research is to use first-hand materials and practical first-hand materials. What happened yesterday and today is history tomorrow, so it is very important for people who study history to observe and think about the identity of journalists.

In the past, what was most lacking in those histories was details. The documents were almost dry documents and some cold data, but people's breath and temperature could not be seen. But as a reporter, he is facing enterprises and industries, and he is at the forefront of thinking and facing entrepreneurs who have experienced it personally, so the materials he provides provide a lot of details for research.

Third, he provided a new way of writing and thinking. With a history of 100 years, Zhongshan Industry has been divided into several stages. Although this stage can be discussed, he is the first to divide it into different stages, sort out the context and provide a new way of writing and thinking.

Observing the historical course of Zhongshan Industry, there are several dimensions in his writing, from which point of view, standing on a high-rise bridge, looking up from under the bridge, or looking flat. He put Zhongshan's industry in the industrial development of the whole world, including China, and combined Zhongshan's industrial development with the policies of the Party committee and government. These two perspectives are very important. One is the macro-climate and the other is the micro-environment. Speaking of the industrial history of Zhongshan, Ge Zhibin spoke eloquently. He is a witness to the development of Zhongshan's industrial history.

He said that Hua Jian's book reminded him of many past events and returned to the years when his passion was burning. From 1974, he worked in a tractor factory for 18 years, first as a worker, and later as a factory director and party secretary. In 1992, he was transferred to Torch Development Zone, and he was one of the pioneers of the Development Zone.

He visited Japan several times, and each visit brought him great shock. The first time he went to Japan to study in 1987, he was shocked by the modern life in Japan and saved money to bring back color TV sets from Japan. Later, he went to inspect the automobile production technology in Japan. Zhongshan had planned to develop the automobile manufacturing industry, and they tried to get two Suzuki cars back for research. Later, due to the planned economy, the car was made to other cities, which he has always been "bitter." Later, he went to Japan to inspect numerical control technology. Numerical control technology is later digitalization, and Japan has realized mass production through numerical control technology.

He said with emotion that it is very painful to engage in high technology, and it is necessary to have strong perseverance, capital investment and capital market investment.
